Senator Clinton visits our tiny town!

Some days start rather anonymously, mundane things,
same old same old.. and then a call comes in, and suddenly
you find yourself shaking the hand of a Presidential
candidate Hillary Clinton, interviewing her , serving breakfast to the secret service, chatting with Chelsea Clinton and meeting the Governor of our State and for Amanda she got to see herself on CNN later that evening !
Amazing when one of our wonder gals has this happen but for both of them to have this experience it was pretty amazing! They were both brought to this circumstance via different events. and both took a completely different view on the events.
They have both written a short overview of the experience to share..
Amanda's Story:
Thursday started out as another mundane go-to-school-go-to-work day......AND THEN.........as I was sitting my Communication Law class (day dreaming about tole painting, of course)....my professor got a call from someone at the police department that Senator Hillary Clinton was on her way to Bob Evans. My professor offered me the opportunity to meet and interview Senator Hillary Clinton and write an article about it. Being a PR major, I thought it was the ultimate "big deal story" for my news portfolio....writing stuff....resume...and so on. I rushed out of class and to the restaurant. It was so exciting! There were media people from everywhere!! CNN, Newsweek, NBC, CBS, local channels, newspaper....and some I didn't know. It was quite the adrenaline rush. The place was PACKED!!! And talk about those secret service agents?? I want to run for president. {Laugh out Loud, wink, wink} Honestly, though, it was a great experience and I got to talk to Senator Clinton about some interesting topics. I also gained some very valuable insight into the media world. Hands-on is so much better than reading about it in a text book. To sum it up and top it off.....I made it onto CNN and made a few great memories.....AND.....I got my news story for my portfolio. It made for a very exciting and successful day!
Glenna's Story:
Wow! Hillary Clinton at Bob Evans in Rio Grande Ohio. She was the first Presidential candidate to ever stop at a little town like this. It was really exciting even though I have no intention of voting for her. She had her daughter Chelsea with her. It was exciting to see all the people that turned out to see her. She brought her own press in on a charter bus and she had 2 vehicles that had her security people in them. Not everyone gets a chance to meet someone like this and I can say I saw Hillary Clinton. Pretty exciting wouldn't you say? Hope you get the chance to do the same.
